Starting Points

QUESTIONS WE WORK WITH

Some projects begin with a clearly defined need; at other times, we only know that something still feels unresolved.

Forma Narrative begins with these unresolved questions, looking again at the relationships between brand, product and place to identify what truly needs to be reorganised, articulated or made perceptible.

[1]VALUEThe product already has quality. Why doesn't the market perceive a corresponding value?

Materials, craft and design may already be there; what is missing is a consistent and legible expression of their value. We reconsider how the product is seen, described and experienced — from brand language, visual systems, photography and website to spatial presentation — building an overall perception capable of carrying the value of the product.

[2]POSITIONINGThe brand already looks good. Why does it still blend in with other brands?

When an industry repeatedly relies on similar aesthetics, language and value propositions, visual quality alone rarely creates real distinction. We look to the brand's cultural context, product logic and core point of view to locate a position that belongs to it alone, then translate that position into a narrative and design language that can continue to evolve.

[3]NARRATIVE SYSTEMSThe website, space, imagery and identity are all in place. Why does the whole still feel fragmented?

Brands are often built by different teams at different moments. Each outcome may work on its own, yet the parts can still lack a shared basis for judgement. We establish a narrative structure that can extend across visuals, space, content and experience, allowing different design decisions to return to the same core logic.

[4]NARRATIVE ENVIRONMENTSThe space is complete. Why is it still difficult to leave a clear memory once people leave?

The memory of a space often begins with small fragments: a shaft of light, an object, a line of text, a material, a gesture. We begin with the existing conditions of the space and the brand's context, building memory cues that belong to the place itself. Through art, display, objects, language and sensory detail, the space gradually develops a character of its own.

[5]ALIGNMENTWe know how the brand should feel. Why does everyone on the team interpret it differently?

Words such as refined, cultural, natural, premium or lived-in often mean something different to each person. We translate these abstract intuitions into a clearer value structure and set of design principles, so founders, internal teams and external collaborators can share the same basis for judgement.

[6]EVOLUTIONThe brand is entering its next stage. How can it evolve while keeping what truly matters?

New products, spaces, markets or audiences often require a brand to reorganise itself. We first identify which values should be preserved and which parts can no longer support the next stage, then establish a narrative and design structure that can continue to extend.

You do not need to know in advance whether you need brand design, a website, a space, art planning, or a complete narrative system.

If you are facing one of these questions, or simply sense that some part of your brand, product or space has not yet been clearly expressed, you can begin by telling us where things stand now.
